Underground Dog Fence Installation – How it Works
A sales representative will visit your home for a FREE ESTIMATE to assess your needs. We will walk around your yard and discuss where you do and do not want your dog to have access to. The layout of your dog fence installation is customizable, meaning we can give your dog access to the whole yard or only certain areas, such as the back yard only (please see samples below). We have the capability to exclude areas you would like to keep the dog away from, such as garden beds or ponds. Once we establish your needs we will schedule you for an install. This is how the system works: A wire is installed around your yard along the boundaries you chose. The wire connects to a computer box that sends a digital signal around the boundary. Your dog will be fitted with a comfortable receiver collar. When the dog approaches the wire the collar beeps to alert the dog. If the dog continues to move towards the wire the collar will activate a sensation. What this sensation feels like depends on your dog’s sensitivity level and will be determined during training.
Dog Fence Training will start on the day of installation and continue until your dog understands the boundaries. Perimeter Loop
This design will protect every exit from your house and garage while allowing them access to the whole yard. Your dogs can travel from front to backyard as they please. One benefit to this layout is the option to let them out any door, instead of having one specific door in the house leading to the fenced area.
Hour Glass, Figure Eight or 2 Zone system
This option protects every exit of the home, while giving you control over which area of the yard your dog is in. This is what most of our customers recommend. It keeps your dog in the back yard so he cannot get to the front yard and bother anyone pulling into the driveway, or walking up to the front of the house. This also gives you a front yard zone. It’s always good to protect EVERY door that your dog may get out of, so if someone accidentally lets the dog out of the garage door, or front door, there is a system in place to keep them from the sidewalk or road.
One Zone Only System
Keep your dog in the backyard only, or the front yard only. This loop is designed for customers that do not want their dog fence installed in a specific part of the yard such as the driveway, or near an above ground fence in the backyard. We can avoid any area you do not want us to install in with a one zone system.
Open Loop System
We can also run a three sided or open-loop fence system. We do systems on lakefront property and use an open-loop system to allow the dog in the water or get to a boat dock. We even have the option of closing off the loop in the winter, so you don’t have to worry about your dog falling through the ice.
A three sided system is also used when a conventional fence system is in one part of the yard, and we provide an underground fence for the rest of the yard.
Garden & landscape loops
In addition to your customized boundaries, we can also install loops around areas you would like to protect such as bushes, trees, landscaping, ponds, pools, or anything else on your property. The dogs easily learn that these areas are off-limits and they are free to roam the rest of your yard.
The Continuous Boundary system
The Continuous Boundary feature is our revolutionary enhancement to underground dog fences. Many underground dog fence systems fail because if a dog continues to run beyond the area of activation they will only receive one correction. At this point, the correction system disconnects. With the Continuous Boundary system, the dog continues to receive corrections BEYOND the dog fence perimeter. Even stubborn dogs will remain within the perimeter with this system.
