We are finally getting a small but much needed glimpse of sunshine here in Rochester. Even though there is still snow on the ground, the brighter skies and slightly milder temperatures are a welcome change. This time of year always feels like a turning point.
Believe it or not, this is actually a great time to focus on your dog. Cooler weather helps dogs stay alert and focused, which makes it ideal for starting training with a new puppy or reinforcing boundaries with your current dog. Getting consistent now makes the transition into spring much smoother.
Late winter is also the perfect time to check your equipment. Snow, salt, and cold temperatures can wear down collar straps, and many customers forget to change out batteries during this time. A quick refresh now ensures everything is ready for the busy outdoor season ahead.
Even a short stretch of sunshine is worth taking advantage of. Spend a little extra time outside, practice some training, and enjoy the fresh air together.
Our Rochester office is open Monday through Friday. We can freshen up collars right here in the office, or you can call to schedule training. Let’s use this sunshine to get ready for a safe and confident spring.
