Happy Thanksgiving!
11/24/2024
Thanksgiving is coming up quickly and we wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday from Hidden Pet Fence. This tasty holiday can also serve as a healthy holiday for our dogs! There are quite a few Thanksgiving staples that are not only yummy, but also nutritious for your pooch.
Plain Turkey, carrots, mashed potatoes, green beans, peas, and broth are just a few of the nutrient dense foods that are safe for dogs. With Thanksgiving being stocked full of these ingredients, why not treat your dog? Everyone deserves to celebrate. Plus, when we can serve extra fiber, vitamins and minerals, it’s a win win!
One very important thing to keep in mind is the ingredients our pets can NOT have. Garlic and onion, for example, are toxic to dogs and can be found in almost every Thanksgiving dish. This is why we recommend to put your dog’s portion aside while cooking. Once the veggies are softened, make your pooch his plate before adding in the finishing touches. Some other high risk ingredients to stay away from include grapes/raisins, bones, xylitol and alcohol.
Happy holiday everyone!
